Police investigate after a family of three, including a two-year-old girl, was found dead at a residence in Hyderabad's KPHB area.
A family of three was found dead at their residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday, with police suspecting that a man killed his two-year-old daughter before he and his wife died by suicide. The deceased have been identified as a 31-year-old chef from West Bengal, his wife and their two-year-old daughter. The family was living in a rented house under the KPHB police station limits.
The incident came to light after neighbours alerted the police when the couple failed to open the door or respond to repeated calls. According to preliminary findings, the man allegedly killed the toddler before he and his wife died by suicide by hanging, PTI reported citing a police official as saying.
Police said suicide notes purportedly written by the couple were recovered from the house. Investigators also found a message written on a wall inside the residence. PTI reported the message read, "No one is responsible for this" and "We are making a mistake, but we have no other choice. Forgive us."
The exact circumstances that led to the deaths are yet to be established. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the reasons behind the incident and verify the contents of the notes.
