Waaree Energies hit a day high of Rs 2,315.90 at the open after Gujarat’s pollution board lifted closure orders for its Ankleshwar plant.

Waaree Energies Limited said on 30 October that the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has cancelled for good the shutdown orders it had issued against the company’s plant at GIDC Ankleshwar in Bharuch district.

In simple terms, a closure direction is an official order telling a factory to stop work. The plant can keep running.

The order allows operations to continue as long as the company follows the environmental conditions attached to it.

The cancellation is permanent. The company has to keep meeting those conditions for the plant to stay open. That settles the question hanging over the site.

Waaree makes solar modules, the panels that turn sunlight into electricity, and Ankleshwar forms part of its manufacturing base in Gujarat.

For readers new to the sector, a solar module is the finished panel that gets fixed on rooftops and in solar farms.

Waaree Energies is part of the NSE’s Nifty Midcap 50 index. The company listed on the exchanges in October 2024.

Its last dividend was Rs 2 per share, with an ex-date of 11 September 2026. Overseas, the company has been investing too.

In August 2026, its US arm, Waaree Solar Americas Inc, committed $37 million to revamp its factory in Arizona.

The upgrade lifts American production capacity to 4.8 GW across Texas and Arizona. GW, or gigawatts, is the standard way to measure solar factory capacity.

At 10:53 am, Waaree Energies shares were trading at Rs 2,292.20 on NSE, down by 1.11% or Rs 25.80 from Thursday’s close of Rs 2,318.00.

Over the past 52 weeks, the shares have ranged between Rs 2,161.50 and Rs 3,557.
