Steamhouse India signed an MoU with Haryana to explore ₹500 crore in shared steam infrastructure for local factories.
The agreement came on 27 October, with the Haryana Enterprises Promotion Centre (HEPC), part of the state government. The plan revolves around community boilers.
One shared plant makes steam and sends it through pipes to many factories, so each unit no longer runs its own boiler.
A single site also makes it easier to manage pollution controls, fuel use and emissions checks.
Vishal S. Budhia, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director, said the model gives steam-hungry industries a fresh way to meet their needs while following environmental rules.
He added that Haryana’s industrial clusters deserve a closer look. Panipat and Sonipat are among the areas named for possible projects.
It is an early step, not a contract. The MoU is exploratory and does not award any project.
Any plant depends on feasibility studies, industry demand, environmental norms and government approvals.
Air quality in Delhi-NCR gives the plan its backdrop. Community boilers have also appeared in Central Pollution Control Board guidelines for small industrial clusters.
Steamhouse India Limited, set up in 2015 and based in Surat, sells steam from its community boiler plants and pipelines.
It also buys steam from other producers and supplies it on. It runs nitrogen separation and distribution units too.
Recent weeks have been busy. On 24 September, the company won a Rs 311 crore order from the Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Park.
On 5 October, it reported an 80% jump in Q1 FY27 net profit to Rs 18.3 crore. It also scheduled an investor meeting and plant visit in Surat for 23 October. Separately, Haryana has been courting industry.
At an August outreach event in Mumbai, the state signed MoUs worth over Rs 66,000 crore, and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called such pacts a sign of commitment, not a ceremony.
For now, Steamhouse has a plan on paper and a state partner. The feasibility studies come next.
