Reliance Industries, Jio Platforms Share Price in Focus: Reliance Industries and Jio Platforms, two of India's biggest stocks in terms of market capitalisation, are expected to remain in focus in today's trading session after both companies reported an increase in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.

Shares of Reliance Industries, the Reliance Group's biggest company, settled 0.2 per cent lower at Rs 1,164.90, down Rs 2.5. Jio Platforms, which recently made its stock market debut, settled over 1 per cent higher, gaining Rs 15.90 to Rs 1,431.30.

Reliance Industries Q2 Results

Reliance Industries reported a 40.6 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 25,548 crore in the second quarter of FY27, supported by stronger refining margins and growth in its digital services business.

The company's revenue from operations reached a record Rs 3.38 lakh crore, marking a 28 per cent rise compared with the year-ago period.

The improvement in profitability was led by stronger refining margins, which boosted earnings from the oil-to-chemicals business. The digital services segment provided additional support through higher per-user earnings.

However, the retail business delivered relatively weaker performance, weighing on the company's overall growth momentum during the quarter.

Jio Platforms reported a 13.7 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 8,389 crore for the September 2026 quarter. This marked the company's first quarterly results announcement since its stock market debut.

Revenue rose 11.4 per cent to Rs 40,475 crore, driven by subscriber additions, higher average revenue per user (ARPU) and growth in digital services.

The company added 91 lakh subscribers during the quarter, taking its total subscriber base to 54.24 crore. Its 5G user base also crossed 30 crore.

Jio Platforms Chairman Akash Ambani outlined plans focusing on enterprise services, international markets and emerging technologies such as 6G and artificial intelligence.
