Telangana aims to emerge as a leading electronics manufacturing destination in the country with its focus on technology, innovation and manufacturing and bolstering the industrial ecosystem, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Saturday.
Inaugurating a manufacturing facility of homegrown consumer electronics brand Mivi in E-City, Tukkuguda, near Hyderabad, the Minister said on the back of priority accorded by the government, the manufacturing sector grew 7.7% in 2025–26. The manufacturing sub-sector contributed ₹1.37 lakh crore to the State’s Gross State Value Added (GSVA).
The government was working to strengthen electronics manufacturing clusters and hardware parks as part of the Telangana Rising–2047 vision. The aim is to also expand presence in chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and electronic component production, the Minister’s office said in a release.
Attracting companies across the electronics value chain, from research and product design to component manufacturing and finished products was the goal. Efforts were also underway to integrate local industries with global supply chains, Mr. Sridhar Babu said.
The new facility, backed by ₹200 crore investment by Avishakaran Industries, the company behind the brand, will manufacture Mivi’s products. It has a capacity of 5 lakh earbuds and 75,000 soundbars a month. Around 2,500 people are employed, the company said.
From an audio brand initially to consumer electronics, including smartphones more recently, the brand has spread wings. The aim is to develop a broader portfolio of technology products and compete with international brands, the company said.
Co-founders Midhula Devabhaktuni and Viswanadh Kandula said the inauguration marks an important milestone as the company completes ten years. The plan is to continue investing in innovation and building products for Indian consumers.
