Diwali Week Watchlist

Diwali week brings a full slate for viewers, with streaming platforms offering a long list of series, originals and post-theatrical premieres between November 2 and November 8, while cinemas are led by the biggest release of the season, Ramayana: Part 1. In Theatres: Ramayana Takes the Festival Slot

The only Bollywood prime release is Ramayana: Part 1, releasing on November 5, with distribution handled by SPICE for PR. There are no scheduled non-prime Bollywood releases and no Hindi dubbed prime films, so the epic has the screens largely to itself.

Hollywood releases on November 5 and 6 are Wild Horse Nine and The Cat in the Hat, the latter handled by Warner Bros. for PR.

Re-releases: Mohra returns to theatres as a Bollywood prime re-release. No Hollywood re-releases are scheduled.

  • Tamil: Scene, Arasan, Mookuthi Amman 2 and Appakutty
  • Telugu: Summer Holidays
  • Malayalam: Disco
  • Kannada: Bhavantara
  • Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali and Punjabi: no scheduled releases

Tamil audiences have the widest choice, led by the sequel Mookuthi Amman 2.

Ghost Soldier will have a media screening on November 3 at 3 pm, ahead of its theatrical release on November 13. Universal Communications is handling PR.

For a family Diwali outing, Ramayana is the clear theatre choice, with Mohra for those wanting nostalgia. On the couch, Dilwali Diwali is the festive Hindi option on Netflix, Black Doves and The Gilded Age Season 4 suit series fans, and Blind Game on Zee5 and The Vvaan on Prime Video cover Hindi thrillers and dramas. Documentary viewers have Taken: Natalee Holloway and Funny Money on Netflix.

Release dates can shift, particularly for titles marked delayed, so check platform listings before planning.
