Minister Narayana calls fake viral audio in which he asks TDP to work against Jana Sena

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana has called fake an audio clip doing the rounds on social media in which he allegedly tells Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers to “support only the candidates of BJP but not those from Jana Sena Party (JSP) across six seats as per the party’s orders” and that “their deposits should be forfeited” in the upcoming municipal elections.

Alliance leaders in Nellore expressed strong indignation over the clip, calling it false propaganda by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to create rifts among them.

Calling the audio fake, Mr. Narayana did not speak much about it while addressing the media along with MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, BJP leader Vamsidhar Reddy and JSP leader Vemulapati Ajaya Kumar here on Monday (October 26, 2026).

The Minister said, “We will make Nellore the top most developed city in the country. The development, which had started under the TDP government, is again continued now under the current Alliance government.”

“People should weigh and compare what happened during the YSRCP government’s tenure with what is happening now. The previous government failed to complete the remaining five percent of the underground drainage (UGD) works,” he alleged.

Mr. Narayana promised to complete the UGD works in the city by June 12, 2027, and make it a mosquito-free city. Even though the State treasury is empty, funds are being sanctioned immediately upon the request of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said.

MP Vemireddy Prabhakar said, “The public should take note of the development initiatives being undertaken by the Alliance government. Minister Narayana is securing substantial funds and driving development, while MLA Kotamreddy resolves any problem, no matter how difficult it may be.”

“Both Narayana and Kotamreddy are working hard for the development of the city. Today, we can see well-constructed roads, excellent parks, and a closed drainage system,” Mr. Prabhakar said, urging the people to ensure the victory of the Alliance candidates in the local body elections.

Mr. Kotamreddy said, “Across the 36 divisions within Nellore Rural constituency, TDP candidates have been elected unanimously in eight divisions. In many places, YSRCP candidates have withdrawn from the race, leaving only dummy candidates behind.”

“Fearing defeat, the YSRCP leaders are resorting to conspiratorial politics. Regardless of how many conspiracies are hatched, the Alliance parties will emerge victorious. The YSRCP leaders should refrain from spreading false propaganda,” he added.

Mr. Vemulapati said that the development of Nellore was possible only through the victory of the alliance parties. He criticised the YSRCP for allegedly making a shameful attempt to gain electoral advantage through false propaganda.
