Iran-US war: United States President Donald Trump has warned Iran of a possible fresh military strike if Tehran fails to reach a diplomatic agreement with Washington, saying the US could launch "another little Epic Fury" to force compliance.
Addressing a campaign rally in Florida, Trump adopted a hardline stance towards Iran, highlighting his administration's national security decisions and criticising the Iranian leadership.
"We may do another little Epic Fury, or they'll agree," Trump told the crowd, suggesting that military action remained an option if negotiations failed.
Questioning Iran's willingness to reach an agreement, Trump said, "If they're smart, they'll just say, 'Let's get down to business.' But, you know, I doubt they'll do that because perhaps they're not smart."
Iran officials say they will target undersea cables if US strikes
Iran has drawn up plans to target undersea communications cables in the Gulf if the United States and Israel launch fresh attacks, two senior Iranian security officials told Reuters.
One official warned Tehran could also prevent repairs to prolong disruptions, potentially affecting internet connectivity, financial transactions and cloud services. However, analysts said the global impact could be limited because less than one per cent of international bandwidth passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
