November has arrived, Diwali falls this month, and Ramayana is a few days away from its November 5 release. For now, though, theatres still belong to the current crop of films. Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed a major worldwide milestone, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer is holding steady, and two smaller releases are struggling to make use of the weekend. Here is how each film performed on Sunday, November 1.
Jailer 2: Rs 11.20 Crore on Day 19, Now in the Rs 800 Crore Club
Jailer 2 completed 19 days in theatres and used the Sunday holiday well. After collecting Rs 9.70 crore on Saturday, the film earned Rs 11.20 crore on its third Sunday. Its total India net collection now stands at Rs 456.30 crore.
The bigger headline is overseas and worldwide. Jailer 2 has entered the Rs 800 crore worldwide club, with its global collection reaching Rs 807.25 crore. That milestone had been the talking point for several days, as the film hovered in the Rs 750 to 780 crore range through its second and third weeks. Crossing it before Ramayana arrives means the Rajinikanth starrer will enter the next phase of its run with the number already secured.
The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, remains the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. Its third-weekend bounce, following a quiet weekday stretch, shows that holiday audiences are still turning up in good numbers.
Udta Teer: Rs 4.35 Crore on Day 10
Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, also showed momentum over the weekend. It earned Rs 4 crore on Saturday and followed with Rs 4.35 crore on Sunday, its tenth day. The total net collection has reached Rs 42.10 crore.
The film has held up better than most of its rivals in the second week, helped by steady word of mouth and a decent run in Hindi-belt centres. Its trajectory suggests a lifetime figure in the Rs 50 crore range remains possible if weekdays hold, though that is an estimate rather than a confirmed projection. The real test comes from Wednesday onwards, when Ramayana is expected to take a large share of screens and shows.
Nayyi Navelli: Rs 40 Lakh on Day 18
Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli was released on October 16, 2026, and is now in its third weekend. It earned Rs 35 lakh on Saturday and Rs 40 lakh on Sunday, its 18th day, with no significant weekend boost. The film’s total net collection now stands at Rs 26.75 crore.
The numbers indicate a film in the final stretch of its theatrical life. With new releases arriving and screen counts shrinking, its remaining earnings are likely to be small.
Prahaar: Rs 65 Lakh on Day 18
Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar, which opened around the same time as Nayyi Navelli, followed a similar pattern. It collected Rs 60 lakh on Saturday and Rs 65 lakh on Sunday, its 18th day. The film’s total net collection has reached Rs 23.25 crore.
Like its release-mate, Prahaar failed to turn the weekend into a meaningful jump, a reminder of how difficult it has been for mid-budget Hindi films to cut through while Jailer 2 dominates theatres.
- Jailer 2: Rs 11.20 crore on Day 19; India net Rs 456.30 crore; worldwide Rs 807.25 crore
- Udta Teer: Rs 4.35 crore on Day 10; India net Rs 42.10 crore
- Nayyi Navelli: Rs 40 lakh on Day 18; India net Rs 26.75 crore
- Prahaar: Rs 65 lakh on Day 18; India net Rs 23.25 crore
The current films now face a sharp change in conditions. Ramayana: Part 1 releases worldwide on November 5, with paid previews a day earlier, and it is expected to take a large share of screens across languages and premium formats. Jailer 2 has already banked its Rs 800 crore worldwide milestone, so its remaining run is a bonus. Udta Teer will try to stretch its total while shows last, and Nayyi Navelli and Prahaar are close to the end of their runs.
Sunday was the last full weekend before the biggest release of the season. Audiences made use of it, but the rest of the week will belong to Ramayana.
