A woman police officer has lodged a complaint against the wife of the suspect and herfriend in a case related to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s sting video case, alleging they assaulted her during a search procedure at the suspect’s house in Lakshya Royal Manor Apartment in Bharath Nagar, Yeshwantpur, on October 23.

According to the complaint filed by Kavitha G.M. of Byadarahalli Police Station on October 24, the incident occurred between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The complainant alleged that she and her team went to search the apartment of Mohan Gowda. His wife, identified as Pavithra, refused to cooperate and hand over her mobile phone. Kavitha alleged she was assaulted and her gold bracelet was lost during the scuffle, but she realised this only after returning to the police station. She verified the video recording of the procedure and found that the bracelet had fallen on the bed in the suspect’s room.

The police have registered an FIR against Pavithra and her friend, also identified as Pavithra, charging them under Section 132 (assault or criminal force used to deter a public servant from discharging their official duty) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

The cybercrime police are continuing efforts to track down Gowda and others allegedly involved in distribution of the sting video.
