Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) conducted a trial run of a train on the test track at the Byappanahalli depot on Saturday as part of preparations for the much-awaited Blue Line.
The trial involved checking electrical systems, assessing the readiness of rolling stock and identifying possible infringements along the track. BMRCL is expected to move testing to the main line shortly. An official said that the testing would resume next week, subject to the availability of workers following Deepavali.
Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has manufactured the driverless trainset for the Blue Line.
The Blue Line, comprising Metro Phases 2A and 2B, is a major infrastructure project connecting the city with Kempegowda International Airport. The K.R. Puram–airport stretch is 38.44-km long, while the K.R. Puram–Central Silk Board section covers 19.75 km.
