To boost public participation and enable non-resident Keralites (NRKs) to actively take part in local governance, the Thevalakkara grama panchayat organised an online gramasabha on Friday. The virtual meeting was officially inaugurated online by Forest Minister Shibu Baby John.

Inaugurating the event, the Minister pointed out that online technologies saw widespread adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic. He appreciated the panchayat for constructively utilising digital tools to host a virtual gramasabha, making public administration more accessible. Various public representatives, officials, and panchayat members participated in the discussions.
