Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is known for his high-octane action sequences, cars flying through the air and heroes taking on impossible odds. But the director's life beyond the camera has also seen its share of real-life danger. During the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20, Rohit, who stepped in for Salman Khan, delivered a blunt reality check to contestants Aasif Khan, Scout OP and Yung DSA. What began as a discussion about aggression, gang mentality and behaviour inside the reality show's house soon took a more personal turn. While addressing Yung DSA, the filmmaker recalled the firing incident at his residence, making a startling remark about the violence that has affected Bollywood personalities. His words, ‘Humaare gharon par goliyaan chal rahi hai’, brought the conversation beyond the Bigg Boss house and into the realities of life outside it.
Rohit Shetty on Bigg Boss 20: Why Aasif Khan Was Called Out
With Salman Khan unavailable due to prior commitments, Rohit Shetty took charge of the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode. The filmmaker did not hold back while discussing the contestants' conduct, particularly their aggressive behaviour during arguments and tasks.
Aasif Khan was among those who received a stern talking-to. Rohit questioned his behaviour during the nomination task, particularly his confrontation with Qazi. According to the filmmaker, Qazi had apologised immediately after the argument, but Aasif's response made it appear as though the contestants were provoking him into losing his temper and getting evicted.
Rohit said, “Asif, let me tell you, if Qazi is not in the show, there won’t be any issues to discuss. I am watching the show and coming here. During the nomination task, when you and Qazi had an argument, he apologised immediately. But it felt like you guys have been provoking Qazi so that he raises his hand and gets evicted.”
He further criticised Aasif's aggression, saying, “You get very aggressive, Asif. It’s scary to watch. You almost gave a headbutt to Qazi.” The filmmaker also reprimanded Scout OP for grabbing Arishfa Khan by the legs and dragging her. Rohit's feedback was direct, with the director making it clear that physical aggression was not something to be taken lightly.
Rohit Shetty Calls Out Yung DSA, Scout OP and Aasif Khan
Rohit's conversation with Yung DSA took a different direction. While acknowledging Yung's ability to play independently, the filmmaker questioned the larger group's behaviour inside the house. He encouraged Yung to stop relying on a group and instead focus on his individual game. Rohit said that Yung had the potential to stand out on his own, but his association with Aasif and Scout was creating a different impression.
The filmmaker remarked, “Yung, you don’t play in a group, and that’s a good thing about you. This show gives you a lot, so Yung, you start flying solo; you have the potential.” He then took a dig at the contestants' attempts to portray themselves as gangsters.
“I have seen a lot of times that you guys walk around as gangsters, but you don’t stay in any gang. You guys think yourselves to be gangsters, but you look like 10th standard students,” Rohit said.
It was while making this point that the filmmaker brought up the firing incidents involving Bollywood personalities. “Yahaan humaare gharon par goliyaan chal rahi hain,” he said, translating to, “Here, our homes are being shot at.”
Rohit also questioned whether the contestants understood the difference between creating an intimidating image on television and dealing with actual threats outside the house.
“People think, if you tell you guys something, we will get trolled. But what’s happening with us in life, will that scare us from trolling?” he added.
Rohit Shetty Firing Incident: What Happened at His Juhu Residence?
Rohit's remarks come against the backdrop of a firing incident at his residence in Mumbai earlier this year.
In February 2026, five rounds were fired at the filmmaker's residence in Juhu, Mumbai. The incident was allegedly carried out by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Mumbai Police subsequently filed a chargesheet against 17 accused in connection with the case.
The incident was not the first time a prominent Bollywood personality had been targeted by gunmen. In April 2024, gunmen opened fire outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra, Mumbai, prompting heightened security around the actor.
Tiger Shroff Firing Incident: Bollywood Security Tightened
More recently, actor Tiger Shroff was targeted by gunmen while leaving a football ground in Juhu on October 18, 2026. Three men were involved in the attack, during which five rounds were fired at the actor's car. Tiger escaped without bullet injuries, although his driver and another person sustained injuries.
Following the incident, Mumbai Police stepped up security around several Bollywood personalities, including Tiger Shroff, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Rohit Shetty. The developments have once again brought the issue of security for film industry personalities into focus, particularly in Mumbai, where several high-profile actors and filmmakers reside.
Rohit Shetty’s Upcoming Movie: Golmaal 5 Release Date

The next instalment in the popular comedy franchise is scheduled to release in January 2027. The film marks another return to the world of Golmaal, a series that has remained a significant part of Rohit's filmmaking career.
For now, his appearance on Bigg Boss 20 has drawn attention not just for his candid feedback to contestants, but also for his remarks about the real-life incidents that have affected members of the Hindi film industry.
