Prabhas's 'Fauzi' teaser faces backlash over Subhas Chandra Bose’s portrayal: 'The audacity to insult Netaji by making him portray as cheerleader just for the sake of aura farming'
The teaser of Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Fauzi’ was released on the actor’s birthday, October 23, but it has landed in a controversy. Many viewers are unhappy with the way historical figures have been shown in the video.
The biggest objection is to the scene where Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is seen praising Prabhas’s character while speaking to Adolf Hitler.
Netizens react to the 'Fauzi' teaser
Several users on social media said that real historical personalities should not be used to build up the hero’s image. One user demanded strong action against the makers.“I strongly demand that a criminal case be filed against the makers for exploiting Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to elevate and glorify Prabhas’s character.
How dare anyone even think of doing something so disrespectful? They must issue an immediate public apology and take this down at the earliest,” the user wrote.Another person commented, “Hitler aur Netaji ...dono ka mazaak bana diya hai (They've made a mockery of both Hitler and Netaji)." A third user said, "I’m seriously done with same template, main lead soaked in blood and operating heavy machine gun with load bgm in background, it was good for couple of films, now every other film is featuring same."
One more comment read, “The audacity to insult Subash Chandra Bose by making him portray as a cheerleader just for the sake of aura farming Prabhas. Its an insult to his efforts, his sacrifices that he has done for our country. You should be ashamed.”Not everyone agreed, though. Some fans of Prabhas defended the film and said it is a fictional story inspired by a real character. Others simply showed their excitement for the project.

What the teaser shows
The teaser runs for 2 minutes and 31 seconds. It gives a first look at Prabhas as a soldier from Kolkata who can go to any extent to protect his motherland. The video opens with Netaji meeting German dictator Adolf Hitler at the peak of World War II.While the meeting actually took place, the teaser adds a fictional angle. Netaji is shown talking about how he angered the British with his code inspired by the Bhagavad Gita. Prabhas’s character then makes an entry as a lone rebel warrior. Filled with gunfights and high-octane action, the teaser describes him as “India’s biggest rebel soldier”.
