Bengaluru’s elevated Pink Line metro corridor is expected to open to the public on November 13, following safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the corridor.

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya took to X hinted at the likely opening date in a post on X, writing: “November 13th. #PinkLine”.

The elevated section has seven stations: Kalena Agrahara, Hulimavu, IIMB, JP Nagar 4th Phase, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda and Tavarekere.

The remaining 13.8-km underground section will connect Dairy Circle to Nagawara, passing through M.G. Road and Shivajinagar. Once the entire line is operational, it will link south Bengaluru with the central and northern parts of the city, improving connectivity for commuters, including office-goers.

Last Wednesday, Krishna Byre Gowda, Karnataka’s Minister for Revenue and the minister in charge of Greater Bengaluru Development, said the elevated section had received safety clearance and was ready to begin public services once the Centre announced an inauguration date.

“We are happy to obtain the clearance from Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety for elevated portion of Pink Line. After considerable effort, we now have the safety sanction. We are ready to launch public service as soon as Govt of India gives a date for inauguration. We have already written to them requesting for the date,” he said.
