A man was killed in a brutal attack in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Thursday after a car allegedly hit his scooter before he was assaulted with a hockey stick and an iron rod.
The incident took place near Bajrang Chowk in the N-7 area of CIDCO, a busy part of the city. The victim, identified as Devesh, alias Bunty Dixit, was returning from the gym when he was attacked.
According to preliminary details, Pawan Parashar allegedly rammed his car into Dixit’s scooter from behind. The collision caused Dixit to fall onto the road. Parashar then allegedly attacked him with a hockey stick and an iron rod, repeatedly hitting him on the head and face.
Dixit died at the spot.
After the incident, Parashar went to the CIDCO police station. Police have taken custody of the car allegedly used in the attack and have also seized the iron rod believed to have been used in the assault.
Parashar is expected to be produced before a court on Friday as the police investigation continues.
Police have so far not disclosed the motive behind the killing or commented on other details of the case. As a result, the events that led to the confrontation remain unclear, according to a report by India Today.

Dixit ran a mess and was also involved in the plotting business. Preliminary information suggests that he and Parashar had been involved in a dispute for some time.
An old rivalry and a possible business dispute are among the potential motives being considered in connection with the killing. However, the precise nature of the dispute and whether it directly led to Thursday’s attack have not been established. The motive therefore remains unconfirmed.
The circumstances leading to the confrontation, along with the sequence of events and the evidence seized by police, will be important to establishing what happened before the attack and what led to Dixit’s death.

Dispute Angle Being Examined
A possible dispute between the victim and the accused has emerged during the preliminary investigation.
Dixit reportedly ran a mess and was also involved in the plotting business. Initial information suggests that he and Parashar had been involved in a dispute for some time.
An old rivalry and a possible business-related disagreement are among the angles being considered by investigators. However, police have not confirmed whether either of these disputes led directly to Thursday’s attack.
The exact nature of the disagreement, what happened immediately before the assault and why the confrontation turned fatal are yet to be established.
The evidence collected from the scene, including the vehicle and the alleged weapon, along with the statements of those involved, is expected to help investigators piece together the sequence of events that resulted in Dixit’s death.
