Mangaluru-based Mukund MGM Realty has acquired the property that formerly housed the Infosys campus in the Kottara area of Mangaluru. The property covers approximately 2.75 acres.
The acquisition was led by Mukund MGM Realty’s Managing Partners Gurudatta Shenoy, Mahesh Shetty and Mangaldeep AR.
Mukund MGM Realty completes acquisition
Addressing media persons in Mangaluru on Friday, Shenoy said the sale transaction and transfer of the property’s assets were completed on October 23. However, he did not reveal the property’s acquisition cost.
He said Mukund Realty views the acquisition as an opportunity to build on Mangaluru’s growing business potential and help create the infrastructure needed to attract enterprises, encourage entrepreneurship and generate new professional opportunities. The company is currently exploring possibilities for the property, with details of its development and future operations to be announced once the plans are finalised.
Focus on Mangaluru’s business and employment potential
Stating that Mangaluru has a strong base of educational institutions, skilled professionals, and entrepreneurial talent, he said the challenge is to create more opportunities within the city so businesses can grow in Mangaluru, young people can build their careers locally, and professionals who have moved elsewhere can find compelling reasons to return.
He said the company’s projects include Ajanta and Ashoka Business centres. Vertex Workspaces, Mukund Realty’s fully owned subsidiary, is the largest managed workspace provider in Karnataka Beyond Bengaluru. Vertex has enabled 5,500 workstations, helping more than 55 corporate companies to establish and operate their businesses in Mangaluru, he said.
Managed workspaces and global business opportunities
The company’s experience in this segment has reinforced its view that Mangaluru can support a wider range of business activity. As interest grows in global capability centres, technology operations and distributed business teams, the city has an opportunity to attract new enterprises and strengthen its position as a business destination, he said.
New property seen as a catalyst for growth
The newly acquired property at Kottara in Mangaluru could help advance this vision by giving businesses scope to establish themselves, local talent to find meaningful employment, and entrepreneurs to build ventures without necessarily moving to larger cities, Shenoy said.
“Every growing city reaches a stage where it must look beyond what it has achieved and act on what it can become. We see this acquisition as an opportunity to contribute to Mangaluru’s next phase of growth. Our ambition is to create the conditions for businesses to thrive, talent to find opportunities and entrepreneurs to build their future here,” he said.
