'Modi Ji Will Forgive You': CJP Slams Probe Into Dipke's Finances, Asks Why PM CARES Fund Isn't Scrutinised

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has hit back at an RTI activist who sought an investigation into the finances of its founder Abhijeet Dipke’s family, with party spokesperson Vaishnavi Gaur questioning why similar scrutiny was not directed at the PM CARES Fund.

The response came after Surat-based RTI activist Amit Tiwari filed complaints with multiple authorities seeking an inquiry into Dipke’s family’s finances and the legal status of the CJP, which has been at the forefront of the anti-NEET paper leak protests.

‘Look At PM CARES Fund Too’: Vaishnavi Gaur’s Response

Responding on X, CJP spokesperson Vaishnavi Gaur criticised the complaint targeting Dipke’s education expenses.

“Those filing RTIs over a private individual’s education expenses should also look at the PM CARES Fund. Prime Minister Modi will forgive you, don’t worry," Gaur said in a post translated from Hindi.

Her remarks were in response to Tiwari’s public statement that he had approached the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the Maharashtra government over various aspects related to the CJP and Dipke’s family.

Dipke Says Education Was Funded By Scholarship, Loan

Earlier, speaking to senior journalist Barkha Dutt, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke rejected suggestions that his education in the United States was financed through unexplained family wealth.

“My education was funded by a scholarship provided by Boston University. And I had taken an education loan which I have to pay back now," Dipke said, while also displaying his scholarship letter during the interview.

He also said the CJP plans to rely on crowdfunding to finance its future activities and asserted that the process would be transparent.

“The CJP will do crowdfunding going forward where we will be asking money from people, and we will be very transparent about it," he said.

Referring to the anti-NEET paper leak protests, Dipke said the movement received widespread public support, with people voluntarily donating food and water.

He also claimed that some Delhi Police personnel privately expressed solidarity with the agitation because their children were preparing for NEET, though this claim has not been independently verified.

What The RTI Activist Alleged

RTI activist Amit Tiwari sought a probe into the financial status of Dipke’s father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, a retired Maharashtra government employee.

Tiwari said he had written to the Maharashtra government seeking an investigation into whether Bhagwanrao Dipke possessed disproportionate assets, questioning how he could afford to send his son abroad for higher education while serving as a government employee.

Separately, Tiwari also approached the Election Commission, alleging that the Cockroach Janta Party was functioning like a political party without being registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

He urged the poll body to examine whether the organisation should register as a political party if it is accepting donations, including the Rs 1 crore legal defence fund announced by senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal for CJP protesters facing police cases linked to the NEET paper leak agitation.

In another representation, Tiwari wrote to the CBIC requesting that it examine whether Goods and Services Tax (GST) would be applicable to the Rs 1 crore contribution announced by Sibal.

The complaints come amid heightened scrutiny of the CJP following its role in protests over the alleged NEET paper leak, while the organisation has maintained that its funding and operations are transparent and lawful.
