Karnataka cabinet expansion: Names approved by Congress high command

The Congress high command approved 20 names of legislators for inclusion in the cabinet in Karnataka. Expansion of the cabinet was expected.

On August 3, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar got a letter with the list of names of legislators that have been approved for inclusion in the Karnataka cabinet.

The names are:

Names for posts of presiding officers

The Congress high command has also approved the names of legislators who will be the candidates for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the legislative Assembly and the Council.

The names proposed for the posts of presiding officers in the Assembly are G.S. Patil (Speaker) and A.S. Ponanna (Deputy Speaker)

The names proposed for the posts of presiding officers in the Council are Saleem Ahmed (Speaker) and Umashree (Deputy Speaker).
