Kareena Kapoor Joins Shah Rukh Khan’s King

Kareena Kapoor has hinted at a reunion with Shah Rukh Khan in King, sharing a monochrome silhouette of the two facing each other, as if about to begin a dance, on the actor’s 61st birthday. The post gives away little, but it has fans speculating about a special song in the film.

The Post That Set Fans Talking

On Instagram, Kareena shared an image of herself and Shah Rukh against dramatic lighting. “Happy Birthday King. The forever Ruler of the kingdom. Let’s dance together... Can’t wait. 24-12-26,” she wrote, pointing to the film’s release date of December 24, 2026.

Gauri Khan commented, “It’s going to be insane.” Karisma Kapoor wrote, “Can’t waitttt.” Fans filled the comments with demands for the song, including “Song when bebooo?” and “OMG we can’t waitttttttttttt anymore.”

A Special Appearance, Not a Full Role

According to several reports, Kareena will make a special appearance in a song titled Daddy Cool, with other Bollywood stars also reportedly part of it. She is not expected to have a full-fledged role. The makers have not confirmed the title or the details.

The song is reportedly set to be shot with Shah Rukh in South Africa later this month, with Kareena said to have set aside around five days. It is being planned on a grand scale. Sachin-Jigar have composed it, and it will reportedly feature an Indian artist alongside an international one. The names of the singers are being kept under wraps, and the track is said to be one of the film’s major musical highlights. All of this remains unconfirmed.

Kareena and Shah Rukh have worked together in Asoka, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Ra.One, and appeared together in a special song in Don. A reunion after several years is a treat for fans who remember those pairings.

The first song from King, Tu Mil Jaaye, was released on Shah Rukh’s birthday, November 2. The video opens with the line “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashooka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de,” and features Deepika Padukone, with vocals by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi and an English rap by Ed Sheeran.

King, directed by Siddharth Anand, releases worldwide on December 24, 2026.

With a South Africa shoot reportedly planned this month, expect more updates on the dance number soon. For now, a single silhouette has been enough to make a song that has not been shot yet one of the film’s most anticipated pieces.
