Gold, Silver Price Today, Aug 3: Gold prices rose on Monday (August 3), supported by a weaker US dollar, which made the precious metal cheaper for overseas buyers and increased its appeal as a safe-haven asset. As of 5:44 am IST, spot gold was up 0.6 per cent or USD 25 at USD 4,066.28 per ounce. Spot silver also gained 0.5 per cent, rising USD 0.31 to trade near USD 58 per ounce.
At the time of writing this report (9:16 AM), on the MCX, gold was trading 0.13 per cent higher at Rs 1,43,561 per 10 grams, while silver was trading 0.44 per cent higher at Rs 2,18,160 per kg.

Gold prices remained largely stable across major Indian cities on August 3. The price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,44,370 per 10 grams in Delhi and Chennai, while Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad quoted Rs 1,44,220. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was priced between Rs 1,32,250 and Rs 1,32,200 per 10 grams across these cities.
