FATHI urges govt. for release of RTF dues

The Federation of Associations of Higher Educational Institutions in Telangana (FATHI) on Tuesday urged the State government to immediately release long-pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues.

In a representation to the government, FATHI said unpaid dues from previous academic years, combined with claims for 2026–27, have affected colleges’ ability to pay staff salaries, meet statutory obligations and maintain academic infrastructure. The delay has also affected teaching and non-teaching staff, while some students who have graduated are reportedly facing difficulties obtaining certificates and academic records.

FATHI highlighted concerns over reimbursement amounts credited to graduated students’ personal bank accounts, which institutions say they are unable to recover. It also expressed concern over pending dues for eligible minority students.

The association urged the government to deposit reimbursement amounts for graduated students directly into the respective institutions’ bank accounts after verification, release at least 50% of acknowledged long-pending arrears, and clear all outstanding reimbursement and scholarship dues for minority students.
