From K-pop beats and Bollywood hits to traditional Korean music and Taekwondo, Korea Culture Day 2026 brought India and South Korea closer through a vibrant celebration of culture and friendship at Select CityWalk in Delhi.

Organised by the Korean Cultural Centre India under the theme “One Light, Two Cities," the event highlighted the shared cultural values of India’s Diwali and Korea’s Chuseok, bringing together music, traditional arts, food and interactive experiences.

‘Both Festivals Cherish Family And Community’: South Korean Ambassador

Addressing the opening ceremony, South Korean Ambassador Lee Seong-ho drew parallels between Diwali and Chuseok, highlighting how both festivals celebrate family, community and the spirit of sharing light.

The Ambassador emphasised that cultural exchange goes beyond showcasing one country’s traditions to another. It serves as a means of building mutual understanding, forging new connections and deepening friendship between India and South Korea.

The message comes as both countries seek to expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges alongside their economic and strategic cooperation.

NTX Sings ‘Kesariya’, Dances To Bollywood Hits

The event’s highlight was a special performance by K-pop boy band NTX, which won over Indian audiences by performing ‘Kesariya’ from the Brahmastra movie and dancing to popular Bollywood songs, including ‘Kaala Chashma’ and ‘Koi Mil Gaya’.

Five other Korean performance teams showcased the country’s diverse cultural traditions, ranging from Taekwondo demonstrations and traditional fusion music to classical crossover and electronic dance music.

Beyond the stage, visitors explored Korean food, traditional games and K-content, while a corridor-of-light installation reflected the event’s central theme.

Kang Kwon Su, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, said the initiative aimed to give young Indians and other visitors opportunities to experience Korean culture firsthand. He added that the Centre would continue expanding cultural exchange programmes across major Indian cities.
