Delhi Police has decided not to file a case against the 15-year-old girl who made objectionable remarks against PM Modi in a viral video during the Jantar Mantar protest.

The Delhi Police has decided not to file a case against the 15-year-old girl who was seen allegedly hurling expletives at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in viral videos recorded during a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar last month, NDTV reported, quoting Delhi Police sources.

The development comes days after a Zero FIR registered in Noida over the incident was transferred to the Parliament Street police station in Delhi, where authorities were examining its contents before deciding on the next course of action.

The viral clips that circulated widely on social media purportedly showed the minor using abusive language against the Prime Minister during a protest organised by the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

The demonstrations, held at Jantar Mantar in July, were centred around alleged competitive examination paper leaks.

Noida Teen Had Issued Two Public Apologies

The reported decision by the Delhi Police comes after the girl publicly apologised twice over the controversy.

In her first video message, she expressed regret for her remarks and appealed for forgiveness.

A second apology video surfaced on social media after a police complaint was filed against her.

In that video, the girl, identifying herself as a 15-year-old, said she had been “influenced" by people present at the protest and that repeating the abusive slogans was her “first and last mistake."

“I went to Connaught Place with my friends in July. We came across a group of people who were using abusive and objectionable language against the prime minister. They influenced me and encouraged me to repeat those words, and I did," she said.

Claiming that the viral clip had not been uploaded by her, she said she was “extremely embarrassed and ashamed" and added that she was unable to “look anyone in the eye."

She appealed to the country to forgive her and promised not to repeat such an act. PTI could not independently verify the authenticity of the apology video.

Zero FIR Was Registered In Noida

Following a complaint by a Ghaziabad resident, Noida’s Expressway police station registered a Zero FIR on July 30.

The complainant alleged that the minor had used abusive and objectionable language against Prime Minister Modi during the July 23 protest at Jantar Mantar.

The case was registered under Sections 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 353(1) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 356(1) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita before being transferred to the Delhi Police, as the alleged incident occurred within the national capital’s jurisdiction.

Earlier, officials had said the Delhi Police would first examine the contents of the transferred Zero FIR before deciding whether any further legal action was warranted.

Separately, Delhi Police had also registered an FIR at its Special Cell Police Station over the circulation of the viral content, issued notices to social media platform X seeking removal of the clip, and sought preservation of relevant electronic records as part of its investigation.

PM Modi Had Called For Forgiveness

Reacting to the controversy in a late-night video message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it had pained him that not only he but also his late mother had been subjected to “filthy abuses" during the protest.

However, he urged people to forgive the “misguided children" and guide them towards the right path.
