Amrita, Rajya Rani express trains to be upgraded with LHB coaches

The Southern Railway will upgrade the Amrita and Rajya Rani express trains with Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches to provide passengers with an enhanced travel experience, with improved safety features and greater riding comfort. According to a release issued by the Southern Railway, Rameswaram–Thiruvananthapuram Central–Rameswaram Amritha Express (Train numbers 16344/16343) will be operated with LHB coaches from Rameswaram with effect from January 1, 2027, and from Thiruvananthapuram Central with effect from January 2, 2027.

Thiruvananthapuram North–Nilambur Road–Thiruvananthapuram North Rajya Rani Express (16349/16350) will run with LHB coaches from Thiruvananthapuram North with effect from December 31 and from Nilambur Road with effect from January 1, said the statement.
